The Home Depot is my favorite place. I find myself strolling the aisles of this big orange box almost as often as I visit the grocery store.
A lot of the time, I'm not visiting to actually purchase something, but I'm gathering ideas or inspiration for a project I'm working on. Something about the massive volume & mix of materials just makes me happy! I'm notorious for showing up to Home Depot grossly overdressed for a hardware store visit, so I thought it would be fun to do an "end of the year" shoot there. Amber loves the juxtaposition of glam with functional, so she obliged my crazy idea and we had a ball shooting this!
But let's talk about 2017. Last year was the first year that I selected a word of the year to focus on. The word that I chose was 'persist' and man, was it appropriate! There were so many areas in my life that I was tempted to quit. There are goals that I set for myself that I did not meet, but I persisted to reach for them. There are things that I hoped for that did not come to fruition, but I persisted in prayer. My health challenged me, but I persisted through my pain. The world around us seems to be falling apart daily, but I persist in believing in God's sovereignty.
In 2018, I want to continue focusing on the word persist but add the word 'risk'. I hope to look back at this year and see that I positioned myself to be fully reliant on God. I have some awesome updates to share very soon.
